Steward's Report
Owlette was a late scratching at 7.15pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Dr. Noely was slow to begin.
Aye Drainer checked off Off Ya Rocket on the first turn checking Flash Mikado. Nareen and Terrigal Tornado collided on the first turn. Dr. Noely raced wide on the first turn. Staunch As and Flash Mikado collided on the home turn. Nareen and Off Ya Rocket collided entering the home straight. Nareen eased in the home straight and collided with Off Ya Rocket.
A sample was taken from Off Ya Rocket - winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Ms D. Ireland, the trainer of the greyhound Nareen regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Nareeen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries an abrasion to the right hind foot, no day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Nareen with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Ireland pleaded guilty to the charge, Nareen was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
