Stewards spoke to Ms Jennifer Thorpe, the trainer of Gala Rose regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Gala Rose last raced on 3 May 2017. Ms Thorpe stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a triangle injury and being seasonal.

Hail A Cab and Gala Rose collided soon after the start checking Gala Rose. Too Far Out and Rocketness collided approaching the first turn checking Too Far Out. Gala Rose checked off Too Far Out on the first turn. Hail A Cab and Cool Al collided approaching the home turn checking Cool Al.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Nick and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 11.23am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Ms P. Lowe was fined the sum of $100.

Spring Stitch and Zenstar were slow to begin. Cosmic George, Spring Stitch and Mick's Hope collided approaching the first turn checking Mick's Hope. Spring Stitch checked off Lola Allen on the first turn.

Patchie Bear was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left gracilis muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

The time of the trial was 22.74, the greyhound was beaten/won by a margin of 9.75L. Big Boy Rocket was Cleared and Cleared To Race In Blinkers. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Last Outlaw trialled over the 390m from box 5, weight 32.1kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 5 starters. The time of the trial was 22.74, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.75L. Last Outlaw was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Brett Cook, the trainer of Auburn Gal regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Auburn Gal last raced on 8/1/2017. Mr Cook stated that greyhound was returning from a spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Auburn Gal trialled over the 390m from box 7, weight 26.1kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 5 starters. The time of the trial was 22.74, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6L. Auburn Gal was Cleared.

Satisfactory Weight Trial (Solo) -Calendar Boy trialled over the 450m from box1, weight 36.0kg. The time of the trial was 25.81, Calendar Boy was Cleared.
