Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Acclaim.
You Bug Me was quick to begin. Acclaim crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking You Bug Me. You Bug Me raced wide on the first turn. Petra Allen checked off Lani Bale approaching the third turn. Night Theory checked off Lani Bale on the home turn. Luck's Run Out and Rainbow Ruby collided on the home turn. Night Theory marred the running of Lani Bale in the home straight.
Night Theory was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right hindleg calf and triangle injuries, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms Michelle Berry, the trainer of the greyhound Night Theory, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Night Theory with marring. Ms Berry pleaded guilty to the charge, Night Theory was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
