Elgrande Rebel was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

Ms Judy O'Neill, trainer of  Vectis Campinae, declared a new weight of 34.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Vectis Campinae last raced at 33.2kg.

Stewards spoke to Mr Donald Jarvis, the trainer of the greyhound Kid Ringo, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Kid Ringo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle; a ten-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Kid Ringo with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Jarvis pleaded guilty to the charge, Kid Ringo was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr William Elson, the trainer of Blonde Yappa, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Blonde Yappa last raced on 19 July 2017. Mr Elson stated that  the greyhound was resuming racing after being seasonal.

Mister Blue and Test Pilot were slow to begin.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Topaz Warrior trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 29.4kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of five. The time of the trial was 22.28, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.5L. Topaz Warrior was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr George Borg, the trainer of Dotti Zulu, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Dotti Zulu last raced on 30 October 2016. Mr Borg stated that the greyhound had sustained a back muscle injury and been seasonal. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Dotti Zulu trialled over the 390m from box three, weight 27.9kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of five. The time of the trial was 22.28, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.75L. Dotti Zulu was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms Sandra Galea, the trainer of Julie Flash, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Julie Flash last raced on 12 April 2017. Ms Galea stated that the greyhound had sustained a dropped back muscle. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Julie Flash trialled over the 390m from box five, weight 28.4kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of five. The time of the trial was 22.28, the greyhound won by a margin of 3.25L. Julie Flash was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms Sandra Galea, the trainer of Kaela Star, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Kaela Star last raced on 24 May 2017. Ms Galea stated that the greyhound had sustained a hock injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Kaela Star trialled over the 390m from box seven, weight 29.6kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of five. The time of the trial was 22.28, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 19.75L. Kaela Star was not cleared.

Mahjong Baby last raced on 31 May 2017. Mr Keanally stated that the greyhound had sustained a back muscle injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Mahjong Baby trialled over the 390m from box eight, weight 27.9kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of five. The time of the trial was 22.28, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.25L. Mahjong Baby was cleared.
