Eau Rouge and Iggy Wiggy were quick to begin.  Ninetymile Hawk was slow to begin.  Bold Reflection and Ohana Sparkles collided soon after the start.  Lochie's Mate and Dr. Mortikye collided soon after the start.  Ninetymile Hawk and Bold Reflection collided on the first turn causing Bold Reflection to collide with Ohana Sparkles severely checking both greyhounds.  Ninetymile Hawk galloped on Cairnlea Rosie approaching the home turn.

Following the running of this event Stewards announced to 'hold all tickets' after they had a concern with the positioning of the lure on the home turn.  After viewing the race film and confiring Stewards were satisfied that the positioning of the lure on the home turn did not affect the result of the event, pursuant to (GAR 55(1)) the all clear was given. 

Stewards spoke to Lure Driver Mr. W. Harmor regarding the positioning of the lure on the home turn.  Mr. Harmor stated that he had not driven at this track for quite a number of years.  Stewards noted Mr. Harmor's explanation and referred this incident to the appropriate manager.

A pre-race sample was taken from Buckle Up Leo.

Mexican Spice was quick to begin.  North Paw was slow to begin.  In A Pickle and Sneak Preview collided soon after the start and again on the first turn checking Buckle Up Leo and Sneak Preview and severely checking In A Pickle.  Why Not Dom and Toss The Dice collided on the first turn checking Toss The Dice.  Buckle Up Leo raced wide in the home straight.

Delta Bad Hand and Paisley were quick to begin.  So Easy and Totally Bullish collided soon after the start.  Flying Storm was checked off Lucky Millie approaching the first turn.  Blazing Major, Mahjong World and So Easy collided on the first turn checking Mahjong World and So Easy.  Delta Bad Hand and Paisley collided on the first turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Perrie Lulu.

Cloverlay and Tarika Tara collided soon after the start.  Parcero Hope galloped on Perrie Lulu on the first turn.  Setelia crossed out on the first turn and marred Cloverlay severely checking Cloverlay, Perrie Lulu and Parcero Hope.  Keno Jake faltered approaching the home turn and subsequently pulled up.  Setelia marred Keno Jake approaching the home turn, Setelia subsequently tailed off.  Tynan eased on the home turn.

Keno Jake was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Albert the trainer of the greyhound Tynan regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.  Tynan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right elbow, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Tynan with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Albert pleaded guilty to the charge, Tynan was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Setelia was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left chest muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. K. Gorman the trainer of the greyhound Setelia regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn and approaching the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Setelia with marring.  Mrs. Gorman pleaded guilty to the charge, Setelia was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Kabiana - winner of the event.

Wanda Bale was a late scratching at 6.05pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to an elevated temperature.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Joyous was quick to begin.  Navajo Bear, He Shall Fred and Shez Imeptuous collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Shez Impetuous.  He Shall Fred and Our Charlie Rose collided on the first turn.  Vienna Gypsy and Our Charlie Rose raced wide on the home turn.  Vienna Gypsy raced wide in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Navajo Bear - winner of the event.

A pre-race sample upon arrival on course was unable to be obtained from Belisarius, a pre-race sample was subsequently taken.

Go Go Guru was slow to begin.  Go Go Guru and Belisarius collided approaching the first turn.  Cronk and Thumb A Ride collided approaching the first turn.  Mac, Mickey Rawson and Thumb A Ride collided on the first turn, Thumb A Ride clipped the heels of Mickey Rawson as a result and subsequently fell; severely checking Audacious Bell.  Go Go Guru and Belisarius collided on the first turn.  Mac and Cronk collided appraoching the home turn.  Mickey Rawson was checked off Cronk approaching the home turn.

Thumb A Ride was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

A sample was taken from Adherent - winner of the event.

Freddie Rawson was slow to begin.  Vanishka and Inter Elesha collided approaching the first turn.  Vanishka and Monster Roar collided entering the home straight.  Thank Me Later, Cosmic Fox and Flying Danger raced wide in the home straight.

Cosmic Chieftain and Shining Opal collided soon after the start checking Shining Opal.  Shanlyn Percy and Hot Charmola collided approaching the first turn.  Cricket's Dash and Hot Charmola collided on the home turn.  Shining Opal raced wide in the home straight.  Cricket's Dash and Hot Charmola collided approaching the winning post.

Mr. R. Floyd the trainer of Blazin Romeo declared a new weight of 29.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Blazin Romeo last raced at 31.4kg.

Prince Mikado was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Blazin' Romeo, Fred Dagg, Property Power and Checker Plate collided soon after the start checking Blazin' Romeo.  Especial Shiraz and Property Power collided on the first turn.  Paua Te Kuri, Fred Dagg and Checker Plate collided approaching the home turn checking Prince Mikado, Blazin' Romeo, Fred Dagg and Checker Plate.  Especial Shiraz galloped on Property Power approaching the home turn checking Especial Shiraz.  Prince Mikado, Especial Shiraz and Fred Dagg raced wide in the home straight.

Louie Neveelk, Sturridge and Walk Woody Walk collided soon after the start.  Louie Neveelk and Walk Woody Walk collided on the first turn.  White Diamond and Dance Craze collided on the home turn.  Sturridge and Dance Craze collided entering the home straight.

White Diamond was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 12, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle and right pencil muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Always About Me was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound lost a nail on a left front toe, no stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Adam Handler - winner of the event.

Acquainted was slow to begin.  Cosmic Nosey, Von Magic and Why Not Cory collided soon after the start checking Von Magic.  Down In Mexico clipped the heels of Our Bravo Rose on the first turn severely checking Down In Mexico.  Cosmic Nosey and Why Not Cory collided on the first turn checking Why Not Cory.  Down In Mexico and Von Magic collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds, Down In Mexico subsequently tailed off.  Why Not Cory was checked off Lucas Rose approaching the home turn.  Why Not Cory galloped on Tubark approaching the winning post.

Down In Mexico was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock and was humanely euthanased.

Aston Danger was checked off Woodleigh Blaze on the first turn checking Aston Danger and Buckle Up Scotch.  Rhyan's Return and Diligent Miss collided on the first turn and again entering the home straight.  Lucky Omar raced wide in the home straight.  Rhyan's Return, Diligent Miss and Acey Boy collided approaching the winning post.

Meeting comments:-

Mrs. Sultana presented Bandit Brad for a vet check at Warragul (02/01/18) as requested by Stewards at Traralgon on 01/01/18.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury.  At a subsequent inquiry Stewards charged Mrs. Sultana with a breach of GAR 42(2) after she failed to check the clearance to leave course form and gain authorisation from the Stewards prior to removing Bandit Brad from the kennels. Mrs. Sultana pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $100.
