Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. F. Vassallo the trainer of Sesame Street regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Sesame Street last raced on 27/08/17. Mr. Vassallo stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a monkey muscle injury.
Karise Fusileer, Meehan Deano and Nitro Hook collided on the first turn checking Karise Fusileer, Meehan Deano and Weeona Jimmy and severely checking Out Of Range which fell. Flywheel Alfie eased approaching the home turn. Nitro Hook eased entering the home straight.
Out Of Range was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right chest muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Bye the trainer of the greyhound Flywheel Alfie. Flywheel Alfie was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 11, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right back muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Flywheel Alfie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Bye pleaded not guilty to the charge, Flywheel Alfie was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Pollutro the trainer of the greyhound Nitro Hook regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight. Nitro Hook was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound on a left hind toe, no stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Nitro Hook with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Pollutro pleaded guilty to the charge, Nitro Hook was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
