Stewards spoke to Mr Rohan Gladman, the trainer of Striving Nell, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Striving Nell last raced on 22nd June, 2017. Mr Gladman stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel. Mr Gladman also declared a new weight of 28.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Striving Nell last raced at 27.0kg.

Relethor Bale was slow to begin.

Little Sunshine was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder joint. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
