Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Like A Rocket.
Barcali was slow to begin. Zipping Zoe, Dyna Forrest and Mia Brae collided soon after the start, checking all three greyhounds. Mia Brae checked off Dyna Forrest approaching the first turn. Huge Allen and Wise Ricciardo collided on the first turn. Wise Ricciardo galloped on the heels of Huge Allen approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Ronray Legend and Huge Allen collided approaching the home turn, checking Huge Allen and Like A Rocket. Barcali checked off Dyna Forrest approaching the home turn. Huge Allen and Like A Rocket collided on the home turn. Zipping Zoe failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight.
Zipping Zoe was vetted following the event, and revetted following race 7. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Collins, the representative of the greyhound Zipping Zoe regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Zipping Zoe with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Collins pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Zoe was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
