Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Lochinvar Dash.
Spudtacular, Zipping Maisy, Dyna Neitz and Allen Dynamo were slow to begin. Jacey Allen, Spudtacular and Dyna Jacinta collided soon after the start checking Jacey Allen. Zipping Maisy and Dyna Neitz collided soon after the start. Lochinvar Dash, Liam, Spudtacular and Dyna Neitz collided approaching the first turn checking Liam and Dyna Neitz. Dyna Jacinta and Allen Dynamo collided on the first turn checking Allen Dynamo. Liam and Dyna Neitz collided on the second turn checking Dyna Neitz. Liam checked off Lochinvar Dash on the third turn checking Spudtacular. Dyna Jacinta galloped on the heels of Spudtacular on the home turn. Lochinvar Dash, Liam and Dyna Neitz collided on the home turn. Lochinvar Dash checked off Liam in the home straight. Spudtacular tired in the home straight.
Spudtacular was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hind toe and a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Tom Dailly regarding the performance of Spudtacular. Mr Dailly advised that Spudtacular tends to find the 525m on his limit at this stage of his career and will now return to race over more suitable distances. (450m)
