Steward's Report
Duce Royal and Oshkosh Uni Chet were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. Go Seek Heidi and Another Bling collided soon after the start checking Another Bling. Go Seek Heidi checked off Why Not Dom soon after the start. Ratajkowski and Duce Royal collided approaching the first turn checking Duce Royal and Another Bling. Go Seek Heidi checked off Loroupe approaching the first turn. Why Not Dom, Alta Linea and Loroupe collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn checking Alta Linea. Ratajkowski checked off Why Not Dom in the back straight. Ratajkowski checked off Duce Royal approaching the third turn. Why Not Dom checked off Oshkosh Uni Chet on the third turn. Go Seek Heidi crossed out and raced wide on the home turn. Duce Royal crossed out and marred Why Not Dom in the home straight checking both greyhounds. Ratajkowski and Alta Linea collided approaching the winning post.
Duce Royal was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hock, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr C. Colaiacova, the kennel representative for the greyhound, Duce Royal. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Duce Royal with marring. Mr Colaiacova pleaded not guilty to the charge, Duce Royal was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
