Steward's Report
Shannah's Gift and Fairytale Ending were quick to begin. Magic Vogue was slow to begin.
Ima Rig and Vee Bee Mate collided shortly after the start, checking Ima Rig. Vee Bee Mate checked off Shannah's Gift approaching the first turn. Broken Axle checked off Fairytale Ending on the first turn, checking Shannah's Gift, Broken Axle and Miss Ding. Ima Rig and Magic Vogue collided approching the home turn and again on the home turn, checking Ima Rig. Shannah's Gift and Fairytale Ending collided on the home turn. Broken Axle and Ball Of Steel collided on the home turn. Broken Axle checked off Fairytale Ending in the home straight and again approaching the winning post. Ima Rig tired in the home straight.
A post-race sample was taken from Shannah's Gift, the winner of the event.
Ima Rig was vetted following the event. It was reported there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Jason Formosa, trainer of Ima Rig, regarding the greyhound's performance. Mr. Formosa advised that in his opinion Ima Rig would be better suited to races over a shorter distance than tonight's event, and added that in future he would seek to nominate Ima Rig for Tier 3 race meetings.
