Oh So Sleek checked off Memphis Sky approaching the home turn, checking Akia and causing Oh So Sleek to collide with Pop The Trunk; both greyhounds subsequently raced wide. Akia and Oh So Sleek collided in the home straight. Akia and Lethal Lomar collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr P Grice, the trainer of Cairnlea Rosie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Cairnlea Rosie last raced on 7 June, 2017 and is returning to racing following a change of kennel.

Love To Dream and Italian Plastic were slow to begin. 

Fred Dagg, Love To Dream and Cairnlea Rosie collided soon after the start; Love To Dream subsequently stumbled and lost ground. Fred Dagg, Cairnlea Rosie and Aston Abbott collided approaching the first turn. Italian Plastic crossed to the rails on the first turn, checking Fred Dagg, Aston Abbott, Cairnela Rosie and Hello Bomber. Love To Dream and Hello Bomber collided on the first turn. Fred Dagg and Cairnlea Rosie collided in the home straight.

Mr. B. Moles, trainer of Galloping Ashley declared a new weight of 28.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Galloping Ashley last raced at 29.6kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Sturridge.

Sturridge, Zelemar Zest and Brazen Bull were slow to begin.  Zelemar Zest and Useful collided approaching the first turn checking Zelemar Zest.  Sturridge and Galloping Ashley collided on the first turn.

Galloping Ashley was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Air Load, Louie Allen and Bolta Neveelk were slow to begin.  Air Load and My Miss Molly collided soon after the start.  Fonty Allen and Louie Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Fonty Allen.  Louie Allen and Bolta Neveelk collided on the first turn checking Bolta Neveelk.  Middle Trucker and Fonty Allen collided entering the home straight.  Middle Trucker and Bugatti Quest collided entering the home straight.

Vital Force was slow to begin.  Right On Cue and Cheeky Cricket collided soon after the start.  Turbo Tom crossed to the rail approaching the first turn severely checking Burnout and Zipping Captain; Double Talkin' and Right On Cue were severely checked as a result.  Twenty Tamar crossed to the rail on the first turn severely checking Burnout and Zipping Captain; Double Talkin' was checked as a result.  Twenty Tamar crossed to the outside on the home turn causing Vital Force to gallop on the heels of Twenty Tamar; both greyhounds were checked as a result.

Samples were taken from the first two placegetters in this event - Turbo Tom (1st) and Right On Cue (2nd).

A pre-race sample was taken from Call Me Waylan.

Hurunui Jack was quick to begin.  Greysynd Alpha and Right Now were slow to begin.  Right Now and Dimitri Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Right Now.  Blackpool Donny, Call Me Waylan and Dimitri Bale collided on the first turn checking Blackpool Donny and severely checking Call Me Waylan and Dimitri Bale.  Call Me Waylan, Right Now and Dimitri Bale raced wide in the home straight.

Right Now was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Merchant Prince was quick to begin.  Rapanui Revival was slow to begin.  Merchant Prince crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Belisarius checked off Jupiter Jones approaching the first turn.  Belisarius and Jupiter Jones collided on the first turn.  Night King and Ringading Sister collided on the first turn.  Rapanui Revival and Night King collided on the home turn.  Vanishka checked off Sir Roderick on the home turn.  Vanishka checked off Merchant Prince approaching the winning post.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Despacito, engaged in this event, on 4th December 2017 pursuant to GAR 79A.

This event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes to allow a Wagga harness race to be completed.

Despacito and Henley Bale were quick to begin.  Lightwood Miss and Henley Bale collided soon after the start checking Lightwood Miss.  Speedy Ryder, Joraddi and Henley Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Henley Bale and Zed Merrett.  Speedy Ryder checked off Rocky Gee Rocks on the first turn.

Vienna Gypsy was a late scratching at 10:19am due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Wanda Bale was quick to begin.  Bank Rogue and Prince Scarlet were slow to begin.  Wanda Bale and Mandelbaum collided approaching the first turn.  Data Star checked off Ice Cool Kaedyn approaching the first turn.  Data Star and Wanda Bale collided on the first turn checking Wanda Bale and Prince Scarlet.  Data Star checked off Ice Cool Kaedyn approaching the home turn.

Prince Scarlet was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right wrist.  A14 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Mandelbaum, the winner of the event. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Crawford, the trainer of Zelemar Bomba regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Zelemar Bomba last raced on 2nd August, 2017 and is returning to racing following a right hock sprain and right fore toe removal.  Mr. Crawford also declared a new weight of 31.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Zelemar Bomba last raced at 30.0kgs.

Stewards spoke to Miss. R. Romyn, the trainer of Freak Unleashed regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Freak Unleashed last raced on 5th July, 2017 and is returning to racing following a change of kennel and being on season.

A pre-race sample was taken from Sharnica.

Zelemar Bomba and Freak Unleashed were quick to begin.  Hello Nimble was slow to begin.  Don The Sash and Sharnica collided soon after the start.  City Rambler and Tai Chi Mini collided soon after the start checking City Rambler.  Zelemar Bomba faltered soon after the start and subsequently pulled up.  Sunset Senorita, Don The Sash, Freak Unleashed and Tai Chi Mini collided on the first turn checking Don The Sash.  Sunset Senorita and Freak Unleashed collided approaching the home turn.  Don The Sash checked off Freak Unleashed approaching the home turn.

Zelemar Bomba was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right triangle muscle and left monkey muscle.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Tai Chi Mini was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
