Destini Comet and Padma Grange were quick to begin and collided soon after the start, checking Padma Grange. Ima Sapphire was slow to begin. Eden Lass checked off Padma Grange soon after the start. Wind Witch and Padma Grange collided on the first turn, checking Wind Witch and severely checking Padma Grange and Flying Sam. Padma Grange galloped on the heels of Serendipity Gem approaching the home turn, checking Padma Grange, Serendipity Gem and Ima Sapphire.
Padma Grange tired over the concluding stages of the event and was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a lumbo-sacral injury. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
