Saint Ray and Razzle Oak were slow to begin.
Coolatai Lass, Smashing Wild and Roy Boy collided approaching the first turn, checking Coolatai Lass. Get The Gaff crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Roy Boy, Smashing Wild, Saint Ray and Coolatai Lass. Get The Gaff and Razzle Oak collided on the home turn. Coolatai Lass checked off Saint Ray in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Allen Quintus trialled over the 450m from box one, weight 33.0kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 25.63, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.25L. Allen Quintus was cleared. Ms Andrea Dailly, trainer of Allen Quintus, declared a new weight of 33.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Allen Quinus last raced at 34.2 kg.
