This meeting was declared hot weather affected.  At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 27 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19 degrees.

Drysdale Creek was slow to begin. Flying Action was quick to begin. Dyna Bentley, Lilly An' Page, Nimble Foot and Kalani Tim collided on the first turn, checking Lilly An' Page. Spirit Bar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail to the left hind foot, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. 

Billy Moran was slow to begin. Koda Blue and Tiger Tees collided soon after the start, checking Koda Blue. Koda Blue and Xera Bale collided approaching the first turn. Koda Blue andTiger Tees collided on the first turn. Puzzles, Koda Blue and Tiger Tees collided approaching the home turn, checking Koda Blue and Tiger Tees. The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Shadowman and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 3.55pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr. T. Steel was fined the sum of $100.

Our Didda, Xtreme Carnage and Shiney Bling collided soon after the start, checking Xtreme Carnage. Zorro Creek checked off El Grand Knocka on the first turn. Bageera, Gunai Gossip and El Grand Knocka collided approaching the home turn, checking Bageera and El Grand Knocka. Bageera and Zorro Creek collided on the home turn, checking Zorro Creek which tailed off. Xtreme Carnage and Shiney Bling collided in the home straight, checking Shiney Bling. 

Zorro Creek was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fracture to the right hock and was humanely euthanised. 

A pre-race and post-race urine sample were unable to be obtained from Prince Cheviot, a post-race blood sample was subsequently taken. 

Crooked Vulture was quick to begin. Iceni Skye, Rowchester Star, Oh No Beta and Prince Cheviot collided soon after the start. Xtreme Gift checked off Erupt Eve Lad approaching the first turn. Prince Cheviot checked off Iceni Skye approaching the home turn. Xtreme Gift and Oh No Beta collided on the home turn, checking Hammer Head, Iceni Skye, Rowchester Star and Prince Cheviot. Xtreme Gift checked off Iceni Skye in the home straight.

Go Didda Go  and Seabrook Noisey were slow to begin. Mate Bale and Lady Isabella collided soon after the start, checking Lady Isabella. Stewards spoke to Mr. V. Millington, the trainer of Franklin Pearl regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Franklin Pearl last raced on 9th June, 2017.  Mr. Millington stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a fractured left hock.

Rising Girl checked off Sachi approaching the first turn. Merry Magic, Franklin Pearl and Boo Star collided approaching the first turn, checking Merry Magic and Franklin Pearl. Kilty Jewel raced wide on the home turn. Merry Magic and Boo Star collided on the home turn. Rising Girl and Franklin Pearl collided on the home turn. Boo Star checked off Merry Magic in the home straight. 

Swift Action was quick to begin. Full Of Boloney was slow to begin. Bomber Marlow and Iceni Crusader collided soon after the start, checking Bomber Marlow and Iceni Crusader. White Bandit raced wide on the home turn. Swift Action, Bomber Marlow and Iceni Crusader collided on the home turn, checking Swift Action. Tiger Bite Turbo and White Bandit collided in the home straight. Bomber Marlow and Full Of Boloney collided approaching the winning post. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Peach, the trainer of Discovered regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Discovered last raced on 11th August, 2017.  Mr. Peach stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following surgery to remove a toe from the left front.

Discovered, Iroquois Souljah and Gothamburg were slow to begin. Discovered checked off Iconic Chief soon after the start. Iroquois Souljah checked off Gothamburg soon after the start, Remain Seated checked off Winterstein approaching the first turn, checking Remain Seated, Big Lebowski, Iroquois Souljah and Discovered. Gothamburg crossed to the rail approaching the winning post, checking Iconic Chief. 

This event was hand timed 23.79 due to a malfunction with the electronic timing system.
