Kraken Bolt, Scott Cosmic and Belisarius were slow to begin and collided, checking Scott Cosmic which lost ground. Burrawonga Jimbo, Kraken Bolt, Kraken Ridge and Crazy Hawke collided soon after the start, checking Burrawonga Jimbo. Micro Moo and Stylish Chief collided on the first turn. Kraken Ridge, Kraken Bolt, Crazy Hawke and Belisarius collided on the first turn, checkig Belisarius which collided with Burrawonga Jimbo. Micro Moo and Stylish Chief collided on the home turn. Kraken Bolt and Micro Moo collided on the home turn. Burrawonga Jimbo raced wide in the home straight.
