A pre-race sample was taken from Slippery Sam.
Dyna Chill and Major Think collided soon after the start. Slippery Sam, Miss Judge and Fess Crockett collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn. Slippery Sam and Miss Judge collided approaching the second turn. Slippery Sam, Major Think and Dyna Chill collided on the second turn, checking Major Think and Dyna Chill. Dyna Chill and Fess Crockett collided approaching the third turn, checking Dyna Chill. Major Think visibly eased and collided with Fess Crockett approaching the home turn. Dyna Chill and Fess Crockett collided on the home turn.
Saving Lots was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms. M. Schmidt, the handler of the greyhound Major Think regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Major Think was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right triangle muscle, a ten day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Major Think with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Schmidt pleaded guilty to the charge, Major Think was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
