Stewards spoke to Ms. A. Langton, the trainer of Rig Fifty Five regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Rig Fifty Five last raced on the 13th of May, 2017. Ms. Langton stated that the greyhound is returning to racing following a torn right triangle muscle.

Stewards spoke to Ms. M. Schmidt, the handler of the greyhound Major Think regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Major Think was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right triangle muscle, a ten day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Major Think with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Schmidt pleaded guilty to the charge, Major Think was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Pia trialled over the 515m from box 2, weight 29.5kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 30.251, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 0.85 lengths. Pia was cleared.
