Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Derubeis the trainer of the greyhound Khawaja regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the back straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Khawaja with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Derubeis pleaded guilty to the charge, Khawaja was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Blue Addiction and Trap Queen were slow to begin.  Agent Voilet, Trap Queen, Steel Magnetic and Bronelly Buster collided soon after the start checking Agent Voilet.  Steel Magnetic was checked off Bronelly Buster on the first turn.  Agent Voilet raced wide on the first turn.  Bronelly Buster was checked off Flywheel Strike entering the home straight and raced wide checking Flywheel Strike and severely checking Yangtze.

Peggy Hook and Vane Power were quick to begin.  Nice Work, Ash's Waddle and Zellman collided soon after the start.  Pancake and Ruby's Image collided approaching the first turn.  Wharfies Girl, Peggy Hook and Vane Power collided on the first turn checking Wharfies Girl.  Ash's Waddle and Ruby's Image collided on the first turn.  Peggy Hook, Vane Power, Zellman and Pancake collided approaching the second turn severely checking Ruby's Image, Zellman and Pancake fell.  Peggy Hook and Wharfies Girl collided approaching the winning post.

Zellman was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained and injured left back muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
