Steward's Report
Chinotto and Micro Moo were quick to begin. Hagrid Grange and Blackheart Bruce were slow to begin. Ginny Allen checked off Hagrid Grange on the first turn and raced wide as a result. Bushman's Melody, Hagrid Grange and Blackheart Bruce collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight checking all three greyhounds. Blackheart Bruce eased in the home straight, severely checking Hagrid Grange.
Blackheart Bruce was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist, left flexor tendon, left saddle muscle and right back muscle, a 28 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr C. Colaiacovo, Trainer of Blackheart Bruce. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Blackheart Bruce with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Colaiacovo pleaded guilty to the charge, Blackheart Bruce was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (All Tracks), and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (All Tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
