Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to M. Tabb, the representative of Captain Universe regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Captain Universe last raced on 29 April 2017 and is returning after a hock injury. Mr. Tabb also declared a new weight of 33.2 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Captain Universe last raced at 31.5.
This race was delayed by approximately 3 minutes after Stewards directed the handlers and greyhounds remain in the kennel area while a hail storm passed through.
Supraspinatus, Killara John and Levator Scapulae were slow to begin. Captain Universe and Killara John collided at the 250m mark. Invictus Shirely and Tallinn Power collided at the 100m mark, checking Invictus Shirely. Captain Universe and Meehan Phil collided at the 100m mark.
Stewards spoke to S Tabb regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Captain Universe. Stewards directed that Captain Universe be boxed first in future events.
