Acting under a confirmed telephone call from Trainer Ms. A. Powell, Swift Joker was a late scratching at 9:10am due to Mrs. Powell being unable to attend the track as a result of a car breakdown. Pending evidence being produced no penalties were applied.
Another Bekim was slow to begin and crossed to the outside soon after the start. Tippa Power and Mister Pickles collided soon after the start, checking Mister Pickles and Riverbank Lark. Nellie Shan, San Remo Lass and Grey Magic collided soon after the start. San Remo Lass and Grey Magic collided at the 300m mark, severely checking both greyhounds. Nellie Shan and Grey Magic collided several times from approaching the 250m mark until the 100m mark, checking both greyhounds.
