Track Curator Mr C. Hiscock advised stewards that the track was medium harrowed on 1 August 2017.

A trial of the GRV-endorsed ISO-LYNX real-time tracking system was conducted throughout today's racing program. All race rugs used today were fitted with a location tracking beacon as part of this trial.

Gray Bale and Allen Mack were slow to begin.

Allen Mack was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right triangle soreness and spike wound under the chin, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Headline News was slow to begin.

Destini Laredo and Nike Viper collided soon after the start.  Nike Viper checked off Destini Laredo soon after the start.  Destini Laredo and Faithful Hill collided approaching the first turn.  Nike Viper checked off Headline News on the first turn.  Destini Laredo checked off Faithful Hill on the first turn.  Saddle Tank and Miss Shieka collided approaching the third turn.  Destini Laredo checked off Nike Viper approaching the home turn.  Faithful Hill and Headline News collided entering the home straight.  Nike Viper and Faithful Hill collided in the home straight.

Nike Viper was vetted following the event after performing below market expectations. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right triangle soreness and sand toe to the left hind foot and a 5 day stand down period was imposed. This, in conjunction with the several instances of interference encountered in running, accounted for this performance.

Adala prince was slow to begin.

So Amazing and May Haze collided soon after the start.  Manifold and Adala Prince collided soon after the start.  Oshkosh Wayne and May Haze collided approaching the first turn.  Adala Prince and Maestro Destini collided approaching the first turn.  Adala Prince checked off Maestro Destini on the first turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr B. Kandtzidis and reminded him of his responsibilities in regard to the non-use of mobile phones in the kennelling area (GAR 44).

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Kantzidis, the trainer of Molly Bling regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Molly Bling last raced 12 April 2017.  Mr Kantzidis advised that the greyhound was returning to racing from being in season.

Meeting Comments:

At the completion of kennelling today, Express Chain undertook a veterinary examination pursuant to GAR 73 (3), after incurring a 7-day stand-down penalty for an injury from Lang Lang on 30 July 2017. The On-Course Veterinary Surgeon advised Stewards that Express Chain was not fit to race, at the time of examination and as such, the original stand-down penalty remained, as imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Kalani Klare trialled over the 525mtrs from box 1, weight 25.6kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 30.50, the greyhound won by a margin of 6 lengths. Kalani Klare was cleared.
