Stewards spoke to Mr D Taylor, the representative of Ninetymile Saint, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Ninetymile Saint last raced on 14 March 2017. Mr Taylor stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a wrist injury and a change of kennel. Mr Taylor redeclared a new weight of 36.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Ninetymile Saint last raced at 34.7kg.

Miss Camelot and Mahlo Hero collided soon after the start. Gold Rush Dozer galloped on the heels of Agent Osti approaching the first turn, checking Agent Osti, Gold Rush Dozer and Eagleeye Norris. Stewards spoke to Ms E Palma, the representative of the greyhound Merinda Hannah, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Merinda Hannah with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Palma pleaded guilty to the charge, Merinda Hannah was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cavalry Rose was a late scratching at 3.15pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Keith Lloyd was fined the sum of $100.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results - Anustar trialled over the 460m from box six, weight 28.1kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 25.92, the greyhound beaten by a margin of 4L. Anustar was cleared.
