Steward's Report
Merinda Hannah was quick to begin. Black Legend was slow to begin.
Crackerjack Boof, Milly's Choice and Teggernaut collided approaching the first turn, checking Crackerjack Boof and Milly's Choice. Crackerjack Boof, Milly's Choice and Still In Play raced wide in the home straight. Merinda Hannah turned it's head outwards and eased approaching the winning post.
Merinda Hannah was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the hind right toes and has been stood down from racing for a period of 7 days.
Stewards spoke to Ms E Palma, the representative of the greyhound Merinda Hannah, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Merinda Hannah with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Palma pleaded guilty to the charge, Merinda Hannah was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A sample was taken from Teggernaut, the winner of the event.
