Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Okay Alpha.
Still Just Under was slow to begin and stumbled at box rise.
Grooven Chris and Tangoette collided approaching the 250m mark and again approaching the 150m mark. Okay Alpha and William Cabang collided approaching the 100m mark.
Dodge Ball was vetted and revetted following the final event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Dale Batten, the trainer of the greyhound Dodge Ball, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Dodge Ball with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Batten pleaded not guilty to the charge, Dodge Ball was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
