Daintree Destroy was slow to begin. West Side Jet, Bambalam Tilly and Daintree Dynamo collided on the first turn checking Daintree Dynamo. Hunchback checked off Daintree Dynamo in the home straight. Daintree Dynamo and Bambalam Tilly collided in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr D. Taylor, the trainer of Hillbilly Hell regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Hillbilly Hell last raced on 15/11/2016. Mr Taylor stated that the greyhound was new to his kennel. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Hillbilly Hell trialled over the 390m from box 8, weight 30.5kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four.
