Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr G. McMillan, Trainer of the greyhound Agent Alyssa which had not raced since 26 February 2016. Mr McMillan stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel and had been spelling.
A pre-race sample was taken from Agent Alyssa upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Pre-race samples were taken from Dasha and Mighty Matlock.
Why Not Barrel was slow to begin. Dream Of Fame and Mighty Matlock collided soon after the start. Why Not Barrel and Agent Alyssa collided on the first turn, severely checking Agent Alyssa. Addictive Riley and Radio Silent collided on the second turn checking Radio Silent. Mighty Matlock and Addictive Riley collided in the back straight, severely checking Addictive Riley and Who's Driving causing Who's Driving to fall, severley checking Addictive Riley which checked Agent Alyssa as a result. Why Not Barrel and Radio Silent collided approaching the home turn. Why Not Barrel galloped on the heels of Radio Silent on the home turn, severley checking both greyhounds.
Who's Driving was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Addictive Riley was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hind foot, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards issued a warning to Mr P. Goold, Trainer of Addictive Riley, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the back straight.
