Prior to the running of this event Stewards had to request the attendance of the hander of Mignon, Mr. J. Carrodus-Nagy to the kennels due to his failure to arrive and prepare his greyhound for racing by the appointed time.

Lady Jacinta and Blazing Thunder collided soon after the start checking Lady Jacinta.  Hello Slick and Carmyle collided soon after the start.  Blazing Thunder and Mignon collided approaching the first turn. Junipter Jones was checked off Carmyle on the first turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Carrodus-Nagy, handler of Mignon regarding the circumstances of his late arrival at the kennels for this event.  Taking into account Mr. Carrodus-Nagy was 11 minutes late to arrive Stewards charged him under GAR 46(1)(a to g), Mr. Carrodus-Nagy pleaded guilty to the charge, Stewards found Mr. Carrodus-Nagy guilty as charged and fined him the sum of $100.

Golden Girl was slow to begin.  Dashing Magic and Tough As Nails collided approaching the first turn checking Jodiels, Dr. Kestrel, Dashing Magic and Noaki Princess.  Golden Girl galloped on Noaki Princess approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Dr. Kestrel, Jodiels and Dashing Magic collided on the first turn checking Jodiels.  Dr. Kestrel, Flying Smooth and Dashing Magic collided on the first turn.  Flying Smooth and Dashing Magic collided on the home turn.  Jodiels and Noaki Princess collided entering the home straight.

Krazy Kanga, Wez Gordy and Skye collided approaching the first turn checking Wez Gordy and Skye. What's Up Herbie and Dotti Zulu collided on the first turn checking What's Up Herbie and Bending Bananas. Brother Leo and Gotta Permit collided on the first turn checking Brother Leo. Krazy Kanga and Dotti Zulu collided approaching the home turn checking Dotti Zulu.

Tub's Tiger was a late scratching at 8.41am due to injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Ikaika Warrior was a late scratching at 6.14pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to an elevated temperature.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Lorimer Lad was vetted following an incident in the catching pen.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right hip and right shoulder, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Barroom Express upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Galaxy Star, No Road and Barroom Express were slow to begin.  Galaxy Star and No Road collided soon after the start checking Barroom Express.  Our First Lady, No Road, My Miss Polly and Squeaky Gate collided on the first turn checking Our First lady, Spritely Geared, No Road and My Miss Polly and severley checking Squeaky Gate.  Galaxy Star galloped on No Road on the first turn checking No Road and Barroom Express and severely checking Galaxy Star.

Bird Special trialled over the 400 metres from box 1, weight 29.5kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.01 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths.  Bird Special was cleared to race in a one eyed blinker (right).
