Steward's Report

Rosie Riccarton and Striving Nell were quick to begin. Good Luck Mark was slow to begin.

Brandeen Peaches, Good Luck Mark and Zipping Hetty collided approaching the first turn checking Brandeen Peaches and Good Luck Mark.  Brandeen Peaches and Good Luck Mark collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Good Luck Mark and Latifi Nick Nick collided in the back straight checking Latifi Nick Nack.  Rosie Riccarton eased approaching the winning post checking Rosie Riccarton and Striving Nell.

Stewards spoke to Mr A. Helleren, the trainer of the greyhound Rosie Riccarton regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Rosie Riccarton was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to left dorsi/trapezius muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Rosie Riccarton with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Helleren pleaded guilty to the charge, Rosie Riccarton was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Striving Nell - winner of the event.
