Stewards spoke to P Presutto, the trainer of Vis Vitae regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.   Vis Vitae last raced on 5 February 2017. P Presutto stated that the greyhound was returning from a fractured right radius.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Hollywood Pearl and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 6.44pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer C Hughes was fined the sum of $100.

Jacey Allen was slow to begin.  Ben's Talon and Vis Vitae collided soon after the start, checking Ben's Talon which collided with Jacey Allen.  Marko Bale and Vis Vitae collided approaching the first turn.  Marko Bale and Hearts To Heart collided approaching the home turn.  Marko Bale and Jacey Allen collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.  Verta Bale marred Lockrod in the home straight.  Verta Bale and Lockrod collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to L Courts, the representative of the greyhound Verta Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Verta Bale with marring. L Courts pleaded guilty to the charge, Verta Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted

Mr C Hughes trainer of Rainbow Ruby declared a a new weight of 28.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Rainbow Ruby last raced at 29.6kg. 

Lireva was slow to begin.  Lulu Lollipop, Lizzie Fields, Rainbow Ruby, Crackerjack Shak and Crump's Legend collided soon after the start, checking Lizzie Fields, Rainbow Ruby and Lulu Lollipop.  Lulu Lollipop checked off Lireva on the first turn.  Lireva and Rainbow Ruby collided approaching the home turn.  Scarce raced wide on the home turn.  Lireva checked off Rainbow Ruby in the home straight.

Zenstar was quick to begin.  Lektra Forrest was slow to begin.  Chardy, Laurie Galore, Mepunga Dasha and Rock It Ronny collided soon after the start, checking Mepunga Dasha and Laurie Galore.  Meeniyan Jet, Chardy and Zenstar collided on the first turn, checking Zenstar, Mepunga Dasha and Laurie Galore.  Meeniyan Jet, Rock It Ronny and Lektra Forrest collided approaching the home turn, checking Rock It Ronny and Lektra Forrest.  Laurie Galore and Mepunga Dasha collided approaching the home turn, checking Mepunga Dasha.  Mepunga Dasha galloped on the heels of Zenstar entering the home straight.  Meeniyan Jet and Chardy collided approaching the winning post.

Iconic Rock was quick to begin.  Iconic Rock, Moltisanti and Unmid Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Moltisanti.  Beyond The Valley and Crackerjack Choc collided several times approaching the first turn.  Moltisanti and Unmid Bale collided on the first turn.  Crackerjack Choc galloped on the heels of Beyond The Valley on the home turn and raced wide.

Stewards spoke to Mr J Buckley, the trainer of Alpha Lucky regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Alpha Lucky last raced on 10 March 2017. Mr Buckley stated that the greyhound resumed racing after a toe being removed from its right-hind leg.

Brooklyn Skye was quick to begin.  Extreme Magic was slow to begin.  Kouta Mayhem, Zipping Bronze and Crackerjack Sam collided soon after the start.  Bumble Bee Bolto, Brooklyn Skye and Kouta Mayhem collided approaching the first turn, checking Bumble Bee Bolto and Brooklyn Skye.  Extreme Magic contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost considerable ground.  Zipping Bronze and Brooklyn Skye collided approaching the home turn.

Warrion Warrior and Sip Slowly were quick to begin.  Tiggerlong Ray and Crackerjack Dave collided soon after the start, checking Crackerjack Dave.  Saddle Tank, Tiggerlong Ray and Hammer Head collided approaching the first turn.  Go Jotto and Sip Slowly collided on the first turn.  Saddle Tank checked off Hammer Head approaching the home turn.  Saddle Tank and Hammer Head collided on the home turn.Tiggerlong Ray raced wide on the home turn.  Saddle Tank and Go Jotto collided approaching the winning post.
