Steward's Report
Sudden Burst was quick to begin. McIvor Verna, Air Commander and Destini Mermaid were slow to begin.
Trium, Onya Teddy and Surefire collided soon after the start checking Onya Teddy, Air Commander and McIvor Verna. Onya Teddy checked off Surefire approaching the first turn. Onya Teddy and Trium collided on the first turn checking Onya Teddy. Onya Teddy checked off Trium on the second turn. Surefire and Sudden Burst collided on the home turn. Destini Mermaid and Liebig Street collided on the home turn checking Air Commander and causing Destini Mermaid and Liebig Street to race wide in the home straight. Destini Mermaid checked off McIvor Verna approaching the winning post.
Samples were taken from Surefire, the winner and McIvor Verna the second placegetter of the event.
Stewards spoke to the starter Mr. N. Thornton regarding his failure to be behind the 660m boxes prior to the start of this event. Mr. Thornton stated that he had miscalculated the start location and was under the impression that the race was over 450m. Stewards reminded Mr. Thornton of his repsonsibilties and to be more aware in future.
