Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Dr. Yuki.
Johnny Black and Pretty Sensation were slow to begin.
Dr. Yuki and Rockstar Barnes collided soon after the start. One Step Ahead, Beejay's Lad, Rockstar Barnes and Dr. Yuki collided approaching the first turn, checking Dr. Yuki and Rockstar Barnes. Alpha Themis, Ima Ebay and Beejay's Lad collided on the first turn. Johnny Black checked off the heels of Beejay's Lad on the first turn and as a result galloped on the heels of Ima Ebay, checking Ima Ebay, Johnny Black and Alpha Themis. Dr. Yuki faltered on the first turn. Beejay's Lad and One Step Ahead collided approaching the winning post.
Dr. Yuki was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left pectoral (chest) and tensor fascia (triangle) muscles, and right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr William McMahon, the representative of Dr. Yuki, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. After reviewing the video footage and taking submissions from Mr. McMahon, Stewards took into consideration the interference infront of the greyhound at this stage aswell as the injuries sustained and issued Mr. McMahon with a warning.
