A pre-race sample was taken from Casanova.
Cosmic Collinda and Rock Me collided soon after the start. Heracles, Pupetta Maresca and Cosmic Collinda collided approaching the first turn. Liebig Street and Casanova collided on the first turn. Pupetta Maresca checked off Cosmic Collinda entering the front straight, checking Crackerjack Jake and Cosmic Collinda. Casanova and Cosmic Collinda collided on the second turn. Pupetta Maresca eased approaching the third turn and collided with Crackerjack Jake, checking both greyhounds. Crackerjack Jake and Cosmic Collinda collided approaching the home turn. Liebig Street and Heracles collided on the home turn, checking Heracles.
A sample was taken from Rock Me - the winner of the event.
Pupetta Maresca was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Julian, the representative of the greyhound Pupetta Maresca regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the third turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Pupetta Maresca with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Julian pleaded guilty to the charge, Pupetta Maresca was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
