Stewards spoke to T Howell, the owner of Osaka Bale regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Osaka Bale last raced on 22 December 2017. M Towell stated that the greyhound was returning from being on season and had had a change in kennels.

Osaka Bale was quick to begin.  Clock The Gas was slow to begin.  Shrek's Tornado and Parto's Price collided soon after the start.  Grey Magic crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Parto's Price.  Clock The Gas galloped on the heels of Parto's Price on the first turn, severely checking both greyhounds.  Shrek's Tornado crossed to the outside on the first turn, checking Violet Sky.  Grey Magic checked off Hana's Intention approaching the home turn.  Shrek's Tornado raced wide in the home straight.

Scarlet Tru Blu and Fran Allen were slow to begin.  Dianna Bale, Sports Gairn, Maggie's Alone and Chasin' Crackers collided approaching the first turn, checking Maggie's Alone.  Dianna Bale and Sports Gairn collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn, checking Maggie's Alone, Scarlet Tru Blu and Fran Allen and severely checking Sports Gairn, causing Fran Allen to race wide as a result.

Quick Step was slow to begin.  Dewana Babe, Lochinvar Rox and Excelencia collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn, checking Lochinvar Rox.  Lochinvar Rox and Quick Step collided on the first turn.  Philo Bale and Bubba's Silvia collided on the first turn, checking Bubba's Silvia.  Lochinvar Rox and Quick Step collided approaching the second turn.  Lochinvar Rox checked off Quick Step on the second turn, checking Bubba's Silvia.  Dyna Nana and Excelencia collided on the third turn, severely checking Excelencia.

Hyundai Hawk was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right triangle muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Elsa Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left back muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Brandeen Bayley was quick to begin.  On Billy's Wings, Roller Bale and Lilty Allen were slow to begin.  On Billy's Wings and Roller Bale collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds.  Tumble And Dry and Bambalam Tilly collided on the first turn.  Rozehill Beth and Implosion Liam collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  On Billy's Wings raced wide approaching the home turn checking Bambalam Tilly, causing Lilty Allen to race wide as a result.

Wanda Bale, Coco Marlow and Cyclone Jebrynah were slow to begin.  Oz Ten Tatious checked off Tricky Tron approaching the first turn.  It's All Bolony checked off Lady Alliance on the first turn.  Oz Ten Tatious and It's All Bolony collided on the first turn, checking Oz Ten Tatious.  It's All Bolony, Cyclone Jebrynah and See Him Run collided on the first turn, checking Coco Marlow.  Cyclone Jebrynah and See Him Run collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds.  It's All Bolony raced wide entering the home straight.

It's All Bolony was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, abrasions to the left foreleg and spike wounds to the right hock, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Squirto and Magic Myer were slow to begin.  Reignlee, Make It Happen and Ginger Warrior collided soon after the start, checking Ginger Warrior.  Reignlee and Magic Myer collided approaching the home turn.  Ginger Warrior raced wide approaching the home turn.

Ima Wildfire was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abraisons and bruising to the left and right hind legs, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Emi's Boy Murph was a late scratching at 3.40pm due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Jimmy's Joken and Phil's In Luck were quick to begin.  Cracking Joe and Peter's Pride collided on the first turn, severely checking both greyhounds.  Crickets Dash and Parisian Magic collided on the first turn, checking Parisian Magic.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Carter the trainer of Why Not Cory by telephone after he left the course without steward's permission.  Mr. Carter will present the dog at Cranbourne GRC on 18th April, 2017 for a vet check.

18/4/17:

Mr. Greg. Carter the trainer of Why Not Cory presented the greyhound for a veterinary examination as directed above, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Mr. Greg Carter was also issued with a warning regarding him leaving / removing Why Not Corey from the kennels at the Sale meeting without stewards permission.
