Stewards spoke to Mr G. Paez (representing Trainer, Mrs C Paez) regarding the length of time Iona Roby has had between races.  Iona Roby last raced on 28 January, 2017 and is returning after having a change of kennels.

Ms. D Vigor (representing Trainer, P Grills) declared a new weight of 25.3kgs for Padma Grange in accordance with GAR39(2).  Padma Grange last raced at 24.2kgs.

Stewards issued a severe reprimand to Mr K Kelly, the trainer of Gammy's Choice, in accordance with GAR46(2) for his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing.  

News Print was slow to begin.  Fifty Dollar and Vanity Affair collided soon after the start.  Iona Roby, Padma Grange, Vanity Affair and Rhiannon Royale collided at the 250m mark checking Padma Grange in turn severely checking Iona Roby.  Nitro Heroine and Rhiannon Royale collided at the 50m mark.

Big Boy Buzz was slow to begin.  Clavash and Miracle Cherry collided soon after the tart.  Bubsy John and Big Boy Buzz collided several times at the 300m mark.  Miracle Cherry and Tayla's Banjo collided at the 200m mark.  Dodge Ball and Rapid Rock collided at the 150m mark.  Miracle Cherry and Big Boy Buzz collided at the 50m mark.  Dodge Ball and Rapid Rock collided approaching the winning post.

Spy Miss was vetted and after being revetted following event 10, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards spoke to Mr. H. Taylor, Handler of the greyhound Spy Miss, regarding the greyhound's racing manners at the 50m mark.  Acting under GAR69(a)(1), Stewards charged Spy Miss with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. H Taylor pleaded guilty to the charge.  Spy Miss was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville only and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Hide The Wallet, Two Seasons, Bless 'Em All and Hey Shaza Fozz collided soon after the start.  Two Seasons and Bless 'Em All collided at the 300m mark.  Vista Bandit and Hide The Wallet collided at the 250m mark.  Two Seasons checked off the heels of Bless 'Em All at the 150m mark.

Amlin Prince, Mr Alfie, Next Grange, Selynya Kev and Implosion Liam collided several times from soon after the start to the 300m mark; Mr Alfie and Next Grange were checked as a result.   Amlin Prince and Kyl's Me Mate collided at the 200m mark.

Mr. Alfie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to the left hind, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Paez (representing Trainer, Mrs C Paez) regarding the length of time Von Costa Kahn has had between races.   Von Costa Kahn last raced on 27 November, 2016 and is returning after a back muscle injury.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - (Weight Trial) Stewards spoke to Ms G Lemin (representing Trainer, R Hodgson) of greyhound Phoenix Czar regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Phoenix Czar last raced on 12 October, 2016. Ms. Lemin stated that the greyhound was returning from a righ shoulder injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Phoenix Czar trialled over 300m from Box 1, weight 33.6kgs, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 17.02, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8.75 lengths.  Phoenix Czar was cleared.

 Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms G. Lemin, the trainer of Big Cole Prosser regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Big Cole Prosser last raced on11 November, 2016. Ms. Lemin stated that the greyhuund was returning froma left wrist injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Big Cole Prosser trialled over 300m from Box 3, weight 33.1, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4 starters. The time of the trial was 17.02, the greyhound won by 6.25 lengths.  Cole Prosser was cleared.
