Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Riverside Kim.
Aremac Igor and Jebrynah Roma were slow to begin. Jarrad Keats crossed in soon after the start checking Early Spring. Seaton Star, Weeona Jimmy, Riverside Kim and Early Spring collided on the first turn checking Weeona Jimmy, Riverside Kim, Early Spring and Jebrynah Roma. Seaton Star and Jarrad Keats collided on the first turn. Riverside Kim was checked off Jebrynah Roma on the second turn. Riverside Kim and Early Spring collided on the second turn checking Riverside Kim. Jebrynah Roma and Early Spring collided approaching the home turn. Seaton Star failed to pursue the lure and collided with Aremac Igor in the home straight. Seaton Star veered in and marred Aremac Igor approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Ray. Ashworth the trainer of the greyhound Seaton Star regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Seaton Star was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the right hind toe, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Seaton Star with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Ashworth pleaded guilty to the charge, Seaton Star was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
