Jack's Miss was slow to begin.
Tommy Two and Dynamite Dozer collided soon after the start. Jack's Miss and Emperor Cruz collided soon after the start. Bugs Boloney, Fleur De Rose and Emperor Cruz collided soon after the start. Tommy Two crossed to the outside at the 250m mark, checking Dynamite Dozer, Jack's Miss, Fleur De Rose, Emperor Cruz and Bugs Boloney. Tommy Two and Bugs Boloney collided several times from the 250m to the 50m mark, severely checking both greyhounds. Dynamite Dozer and Fleur De Rose collided at the 200m mark, checking both greyhounds. Emperor Cruz checked off Dynamite Dozer approaching the winning post.
