Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr S Coulson, the handler of Maximum Gift, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Maximum Gift last raced on the 28th of December, 2016. Mr Coulson stated that Maximum Gift is returning to racing from a change of kennel and also after being on season. Mr Coulson declared a new weight of 25.5 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Maximum Gift last raced at 26.8 kgs.
Maximum Gift, Thera Cee and Dollcette were slow to begin.
Countess Carlow checked off the heels of Gold Ticket approaching the first turn, checking Maximum Gift. Riverina Miss and Eagle Princess collided approaching the first turn. Riverina Miss brushed the running rail approaching the home turn, checking Gold Ticket. Countess Carlow raced wide on the home turn. Maximum Gift and Dollcette collided in the home straight.
Chesca was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions on the right hind metatarsals. No stand down period was imposed.
