Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Graham, the trainer of Woodleigh Blue regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Woodleigh Blue last raced on 4th February 2017.  Mr. Graham stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a left metcarpal stress fracture injury.

Ms. N. Perkins, trainer of Mac's Intention declared a new weight of 34.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Mac's Intention last raced at 35.6kgs.

Kate's Intention was quick to begin.  Isabella Girl, Sisco Knight and Mac's Intention were slow to begin.  Isabella Girl checked off Nice Work on the first turn.  Jack Hammer and Bolt Cutter collided on the first turn.  Bolt Cutter checked off Jack Hammer on the second turn.  Bolt Cutter lost ground approaching the third turn.  Woodleigh Blue and Bolt Cutter collided entering the home straight causing Bolt Cutter to brush the running rail.

Bolt Cutter was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left triangle muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Mac's Intention was vetted following an incident in the catching pen.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left wrist.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Doused In Mud, Royal Bruno and Dr. Eleonora were quick to begin.  Surfonic Gold was slow to begin.  Taking Flight and Rapanui Reveller collided soon after the start.  Rapanui Reveller checked off Doused In Mud approaching the first turn.  Orataya checked off Dr. Eleonora on the first turn.  Rapanui Reveller checked off Taking Flight on the third turn.  Rapanui Reveller and Dr. Eleonora collided on the home turn.  Gold Bombardier and Doused In Mud collided in the home straight.  Doused In Mud eased approaching the winning post and collided with Royal Bruno and Taking Flight as a result.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Bartlett, the trainer of the greyhound Doused In Mud regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.  Doused In Mud was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 7, it was reported that the greyhound sustained minor abrasions to its right hind foot and left hind calf.  No stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Doused In Mud with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Bartlett pleaded guilty to the charge.  Doused In Mud was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cambo's Cindy, Bageera and Mi Blue Day collided soon after the start checking Cambo's Cindy and Bageera.  Bageera checked off Perceptive on the first turn checking Cambo's Cindy.  Kadalex Kid crossed to the outside and eased on the second turn.

Kadalex Kid was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Nibbs, the trainer of the greyhound Kadalex Kid regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the second turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Kadalex Kid with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Nibbs pleaded guilty to the charge.  Kadalex Kid was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon, the trainer of the greyhound Cambo's Cindy and issued him with a warning regarding his late arrival to the kennels to prepare his greyhound for this event, pursuant to GAR 46(2).

A pre-race car park sample and a pre-race sample were unable to be obtained from Kadalex Kid.  A post race sample was subsequently taken.

A sample was taken from Tobacco Leaf, the winner of the event.

Dynamic Rainbow was quick to begin.  Kalgoorlie Kid was slow to begin.  Gothamburg, Dr. Gidget and Zulu Zoe collided soon after the start checking Dr. Gidget.  Kalgoorlie Kid, Weekend In Paris and Gothamburg collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds and severely checking Dr. Gidget and Zulu Zoe.  Weekend In Paris checked off Gothamburg on the second turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. McCann regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Zulu Zoe.  Stewards directed that Zulu Zoe be boxed first in future events.

Rapanui Revival and Trium were slow to begin.  Dr. Yuki went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Nifty Neville and Mighty Bree collided soon after the start checking Nifty Neville.  Lady Bullseye checked off Mighty Bree approaching the first turn.  Nifty Neville and Rapanui Revival collided on the first turn.  Trium checked off Mighty Bree on the first turn.  Mighty Bree checked off Trium on the third turn.  Nifty Neville and Galloping Fantom collided on the home turn.

Mr. A. Xerri, trainer of Elle Driver declared a new weight of 28.9kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Elle Driver last raced at 27.8kgs.

Peta Sketa and Elle Driver were slow to begin.  Celtic Fire checked off Shooters Echo soon after the start.  Beluga Diamond checked off Lady Alliance on the first turn checking Shooters Echo, Elle Driver and Gardot.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Kas, the trainer of Bling Worthy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Bling Worthy last raced on 9th November 2016.  Mr. Kas stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a right hind stopper bone injury.
