Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Transkei Rocca upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre-race sample was taken from Splash Da Cash.
Transkei Rocca, Dr. Poppel, Queen Coriander and Splash De Cash were slow to begin.
Sudden Burst, Foxzami Tyga and Dr. Cadenza collided soon after the checking Dr. Cadanza. Queen Coriander and Splash Da Cash collided approaching the first turn. Transkei Rocca and Dr. Cadenza collided approaching the first turn checking Dr. Cadenza, Dr. Poppel and Splash Da Cash. Sudden Burst and Foxzami Tyga collided on the first turn checking Foxzami Tyga and Transkei Rocca. Foxzami Tyga and Transkei Rocca collided on the second turn checking Transkei Rocca. Dr. Cadenza and Splash Da Cash collided entering the back straight checking Splash Da Cash. Dr. Cadena checked off Splash Da Cash approaching the third turn. Splash Da Cash marred the running of Dr. Poppel approaching the home turn severely checking Dr. Poppel.
Splash Da Cash was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left & right deltoid, left monkey, neck soreness and left hind spike wound injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Z. Aleksov, the trainer of the greyhound Splash Da Cash regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Splash Da Cash with marring. Mr Aleksov pleaded guilty to the charge, Splash Da Cash was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
