Mr. J Hardy, trainer of Black Sheep declared a new weight of 28.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Black Sheep last raced at 30.6kgs.

Shooter's Gym, Hurricane Aussie and Order In Line were slow to begin.  Black Sheep and Kyla's Cruiser collided on the first turn checking Kyla's Cruiser. Shooter's Gym contacted the running rail approaching the first turn.  Hurricane Aussie and Sultan's Boy collided on the first turn checking Sultan's Boy. Sultan's Boy checked off Black Sheep in the home straight.  Cheap Object and Shooter's Gym collided approaching the winning post.

Shooter's Gym was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Uncle Barney.

Bernmar Thunder and Eat My Shorts were quick to begin.  Dashing Des and Honchomatic were slow to begin.  Galaxy Star and Uncle Barney collided soon after the start checking Uncle Barney.  Spring Velox and Galaxy Star collided on the first turn severely checking Spring Velox.

Uncle Barney was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right triangle muscle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. I Hastie the trainer of Bernmar Thunder regarding the greyhounds improved performance. Mr. Hastie stated the greyhound had received considerable interference soon after the start in his previous two runs. Mr. Hastie also added that he was of the opinion that the greyhound was working well in the runs at home and that he had freshened the greyhound which he believes may have contributed to the greyhound beginning well today. Stewards noted Mr. Hastie's explanation and directed that a sample be taken. 

An Out of Competition sample was taken from Wicked Intent, engaged in this event, on Tuesday 19th April 2016.

Brace For Impact, Bugs Boloney, Tayla Nicole and Wicked Intent were slow to begin.  Bud The Builder was very slow to begin (5 lengths).  Maidstone Febey, Wicked Intent and Tayla Nicole collided soon after the start checking Tayla Nicole.  Brace For Impact checked off Nikita's Marlow on the first turn checking Brace For Impact, Maidstone Febey and Wicked Intent.  Maidstone Febey and Bud The Builder collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Spy Miss, Ima Lara Lass and Vienna Pink were slow to begin.  Kayla Lass and Vienna Pink collided soon after the start checking Vienna Pink.  Niki's Lad and Ima Lara Lass collided soon after the start checking Ima Lara Lass.  Ima Lara Lass checked off Smiley Girl on the first turn.  Niki's Lad checked off Smiley Girl approaching the home turn.  Smiley Girl and Zatthree collided on the home turn checking Smiley Girl.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. P Burns, the trainer of Buckle Up Jem regarding the greyhounds improved performance. Mrs. Burns stated that the greyhound has been trialling very well and that the greyhound was perfectly drawn out wide. Stewards noted Mrs. Burns explanation and directed that a sample be taken. 

Spy Miss was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P Goold, the trainer of Addicitve Love regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Addicitve Love last raced on the 9th December, 2015 and is returning to racing after a spell. Mr. Goold declared a new weight of 26.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Addicitve Love last raced at 24.9kgs. 

Rub The Buddha and Countess Juanita were slow to begin.  Addictive Love and Tekki Hail collided soon after the start.  Major Moe checked off No Road on the first turn.  Major Moe and Karaoke Ken collided on the first turn.  Major Gold raced wide approaching the home turn.  Tekki Hail and Addictive Love collided on the home turn.  Countess Juanita and Addictive Love collided on the home turn.  Countess Juanita raced wide in the home straight.

An Out of Competition sample was taken from My Miss Polly, engaged in this event, on Tuesday 19th April 2016.

Daintree Rhumba, Yorgi and Halo Express were slow to begin.  Taabinga Express and My Miss Polly collided approaching the first turn.  Taabinga Express checked off My Miss Polly approaching the first turn.  Halo Express galloped on the heels of Adara Lad approaching the first turn checking Halo Express. Taabinga Express crossed to the outside on the first turn and raced wide.  Adara Lad and Yorgi collided on the home turn. Taabinga Express and Daintree Rhumba raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N Parsons at the conclusion of the event regarding his treatment of the greyhound Halo Express in the catching pen. After taking evidence from several witnesses stewards charged Mr. Parsons with a breach of GAR86q. Mr. Parsons pleaded not guilty to the charge. Stewards found Mr. Parsons guilty and fined him the sum of $500.00 with $300.00 being wholly suspended for a period of 24 months. 

Black Selandra and Make That Call collided soon after the start checking Make That Call.  Secret Society checked off Mizuki approaching the first turn.  Black Selandra and Diamond Ed collided approaching the first turn.  Black Selandra checked off Diamond Ed approaching the first turn.  Black Selandra and Show Dawn collided approaching the home turn.  Secret Society and Henry Garth collided approaching the home turn checking Secret Society.  Black Selandra, Show Dawn and Secret Society raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. F Langenhoff, the trainer of Still Destined regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Still Destined last raced on the 1st January, 2016 and is returning to racing after a season. 

It's Debatable and Carmalina were slow to begin.  Still Destined, Lulu Noir and Zou Zou Nee collided approaching the first turn checking Still Destined and Lulu Noir.  Snowy Hunt, Zou Zou Nee and Simple collided approaching the first turn checking Snowy Hunt and Simple.  Lulu Noir, Simple and Snowy Hunt collided approaching the first turn checking Snowy Hunt and Simple.  It's Debatable checked off Zou Zou Nee approaching the first turn.  Snowy Hunt checked off Simple approaching the home turn.

Call Me Scary was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right dew claw injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Elfie and Cooler Colour collided soon after the start.  Famous Seamus and Busta Voe collided approaching the first turn checking Busta Voe.  Implosion Liam checked off Hit The Beat approaching the first turn.  Cooler Colour, Famous Seamus and Busta Voe collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds.

Love The Grub was quick to begin.  Jay Kay Be went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Shifty Joshua and Inter Sandra collided approaching the first turn checking Inter Sandra.  Shifty Joshua, Inter Sandra, Buckle Up Vicki, Macey's Queen and Lumumba collided approaching the first turn checking Shifty Joshua, Inter Sandra and Buckle Up Vicki.  Jay Kay Be checked off Macey's Queen approaching the first turn.  Jay Kay Be and Lumumba collided approaching the home turn checking Jay Kay Be.  Shifty Joshua and Buckle Up Vicki raced wide in the home straight.  Inter Sandra and Lumumba collided in the home straight.

Satisfactory Trials Results

Beautiful Ride trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 1, weight 26.2kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.10.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 0.5 lengths.  Beautiful Ride was cleared.

Apparently Not trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 4, weight 33.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.10.  The greyhound won by a margin of 0.5 lengths.  Apparently Not was cleared.

Arvo's Kal trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 8, weight 32.3kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.10. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 10.25 lengths. Arvo's Kal was not cleared.
