Avatar Fox and Asa Barboza were slow to begin.

Spring Bloom, Bopa Allen and Zipping Sally collided soon after the start checking Zipping Sally. Asa Barboza, Zipping Jane and Bopa Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Bopa Allen. Bopa Allen and Zipping Sally collided approaching the first turn. Zipping Jane and Paua To Engage collided approaching the first turn. Zipping Jane checked off Paua To Engage approaching the home turn checking Zipping Sally. Bopa Allen and Zipping Sally collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Asa Barboza and Spring Bloom collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Spring Bloom marred the running of Asa Barboza in the home straight.

Spring Bloom was vetted and revetted following race 7. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.

Stewards spoke to K Heinirch, the handler of the greyhound Spring Bloom regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Spring Bloom with marring. K Heinrich pleaded guilty to the charge, Spring Bloom was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
