A pre-race sample was taken from Texas Blaze.
The start of this race was delayed by approximately one and a half minutes to hold for Globe Derby Harness as well as Mildura gallops.
Emi's Boy Badger was quick to begin. Cullquin Bomber was slow to begin. Senni William, Texas Blaze, Shifty Lilly, Gypsy Wendy and Rosie Bay collided soon after the start checking Senni William, Texas Blaze, Shifty Lilly and Gypsy Wendy. Cullquin Bomber checked off Emi's Boy Badger on the first turn checking Rosie Bay. Senni William and Rosie Bay collided on the home turn. Just Smile checked off Emi's Boy Badger on the home turn checking Shifty Lilly and Gypsy Wendy and severely checking Cullquin Bomber which fell as a result.
Cullquin Bomber was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to its left hind and left front rump and an injury to its left monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
