My Illusion and Destini Gold collided soon after the start checking My Illusion. My Illusion and Extreme Twist collided approaching the first turn. My Illusion and Candle Wish collided on the first turn. Destini Gold, Hornsey's Mate and Zelemar Dancer collided on the first turn. My Illusion checked off Mahogany Spirit approaching the second turn. Extreme Twist checked off Candle Wish on the second turn. Hornsey's Mate eased in the home straight. My Illusion and Hornsey's Mate collided approaching the winning post. Extreme Twist, Mahogany Spirit and Candle Wish collided approaching the winning post.
Hornsey's Mate was vetted following the event and revetted following race 7. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
A sample was taken from Maccaboy - winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Sacco, the trainer of the greyhound Hornsey's Mate. Stewards deemed the performance of Hornsey's Mate unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Hornsey's Mate must perform a Satisfacotry Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
