Dr. Dunstan stumbled at box rise and collided with Dr. Gammiris severley checking both greyhounds, Dr. Gammiris stumbled as a result.  Walmac and Walk Woody Walk collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.

Dr. Gammiris was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. P. Gilmore the trainer of Walmac regarding the greyhound's box manners.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Chatwin, the trainer of Paua Hiking regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Paua King last raced on 27 January 2017.  Mr. Chatwin stated the greyhound was returning to racing following a right front toe injury. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Wot Price Flash.

Paua Hiking and Go Levi collided approaching the first turn.  Forever Merry and Paua Hiking collided on the first turn.  Wot Price Flash and Omega Sniper collided on the first turn.  Go Levi was checked off Pantera Nera on the first turn checking Pantera Nera.  Why Not Logan and Omega Sniper collided approaching the home turn.  Forever Merry and Paua Hiking collided on the home turn.  Why Not Logan and Omega Sniper collided entering the home straight.  Forever Merry and Paua Hiking collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Klemke, the trainer of Miss Vane regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Miss Vane last raced on 29 December 2016.  Mr. Klemke stated that the greyhound is returning to racing following a seasonal spell. Mr. Klemke also declared a new weight of 26.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Miss Vane last raced at 27.9kg.

Jimmy's Joken and Shanks Very Much were slow to begin.  Sir Richard, Cookie Rose and Miss Vane collided on the first turn, Cookie Rose and Miss Vane raced wide as a result.  Jimmy's Joken and Black Bindi collided on the home turn checking Black Bindi and causing Jimmy's Joken to fall subsequently checking Miss Vane and severely checking Shanks Very Much and Cookie Rose.  Megellas Fairy and Aston Tara collided entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Jimmy's Joken was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right humerus and was humanely euthanased.

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Farley, the trainer of Lemon Chicken regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Lemon Chicken last raced on 26 January 2017.  Mr. Farley stated that the greyhound is returning to racing following a spell.

Urban Street and Rylies Jack were slow to begin.  Mr. Nasty Time and Joie Eclat collided soon after the start checking Mr. Nasty Time.  Lemon Chicken was checked off Joie Eclat approaching the first turn.  Rozehill Beth was checked off Far Out Indian approaching the first turn.  Urban Street and Joie Eclat collided on the first turn.  Urban Street and Joie Eclat collided approaching the home turn checking Joie Eclat and Lemon Chicken.  Far Out Indian and Rylies Jack collided approaching the winning post.

Rylies Jack was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right triangle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
