Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr David Pryse, the trainer of Glen Mika, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Glen Mika last raced on 27 November 2016 and is returning after a change of kennels.
Mr Pryse, trainer of Glen Mika, declared a new weight of 27.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Glen Mika last raced at 25.8kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Sloan.
Swift Damian and Glen Mika were slow to begin.
Still Just Under and Sloan collided at the 250m mark. Sloan and Glen Mika collided at the 250m mark. Manhattan Man and Galaxy Sprite collided at the 150m mark. Still Just Under, Manhattan man and Galaxy Sprite collided at the 100m mark. Galaxy Sprite checked off Mendacious Lad at the 100m mark. Manhattan Man and Galaxy Sprite collided at the 50m mark. Still Just Under and Mendacious Lad collided from the 50m mark to the winning post.
Mendacious Lad was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr David Dawson, the trainer of Mendacious Lad, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.
