Brandeen Peaches, Pocket Dial, and Out Of Paint were slow to begin. Alpha Themis crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Out Of Paint and Dead Eye Dickson. Pocket Dial crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Brandeen Peaches and Sisco Rascal. Dead Eye Dickson and Alpha Themis collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Alpha Themis checked off Dead Eye Dickson on the first turn. Sisco Rascal and Alpha Themis collided on the first turn, checking Alpha Themis. Okawa In Black and Dead Eye Dickson collided approaching the second turn, checking Dead Eye Dickson. Sisco Rascal checked off Dead Eye Dickson entering the back straight. Sisco Rascal and Alpha Themis collided on the third turn, checking Alpha Themis. Pocket Dial and Dead Eye Dickson collided on the third turn and again approaching the home turn, checking Pocket Dial, Dead Eye Dickson and Alpha Themis.
