Steward's Report

Massive Attack was a late scratching at 7:12am due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Koch and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 11:12am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mrs. W. Miller was fined the sum of $100.

Brazen Beetroot turned in the boxes and took no competitve part in the event.  Call Me Boz and Harsh Miles collided on the first turn checking Call Me Boz.  Patch Lane checked off Harsh Miles approaching the home turn.  Brace For Impact raced wide on the home turn.

Brazen Beetroot was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to its head and an injury to its left thigh.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards established that Brazen Beetroot turned in the boxes.  Acting under GAR 52(1) Brazen Beetroot was placed on a Satisfactory Trial.

390 metre distance

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Alley, the trainer of Cee Cee Senor regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Cee Cee Senor last raced (on a circle track - previously cleared to race on a straight track) on 16th May 2016.  Mr. Alley stated that the greyhound was returning to race ?.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Cee Cee Senor trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 33.1kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.28.  The greyhound won by a margin of 4 lengths.  Cee Cee Senor was cleared to race on a circle track.

Major Gold trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 7, weight 28.0kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.28.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.25 lengths.  Major Gold was cleared.

450 metre distance

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Kruisselbrink, the trainer of Reverie regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Reverie last raced on 9th May 2016.  Mr. Kruisselbrink stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a right shoulder injury and a seasonal spell.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Reverie trialled over the 450 metre distance from box 1, weight 30.2kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 25.23.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 17.25 lengths.  Reverie was not cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Kruisselbrink, the trainer of Pelerin regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Pelerin last raced on 6th July 2016.  Mr. Kruisselbrink stated that the greyhound was returning to race after an extended spell.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Pelerin trialled over the 450 metre distance from box 4, weight 34.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 25.23.  The greyhound was won by a margin of 25 lengths.  Pelerin not cleared.
