Steward's Report
Shout Aloud and Spring Me were slow to begin.
Young Wade and Keep On Sippin' collided soon after the start. Young Wade and Keep On Sippin' collided on the first turn, checking Young Wade. Keep On Sippin' eased in the home straight and collided with Spring Me. Young Wade and Spring Me collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Ashley Kelson, the trainer of the greyhound Keep On Sippin' regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Keep On Sippin' was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left sartorius (pencil) muscle; a ten-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Keep On Sippin' with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Kelson pleaded guilty to the charge; Keep On Sippin' was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
